Axel's take: 8.1/10
Comfortable Uptown luxury, but renovations and street noise compromise the Ritz-Carlton promise. a five-star Uptown business hotel with a spa and indoor pool, scored for what it is.
The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte is a five-star city hotel that makes a strong case for an Uptown stay, rather than a secluded luxury escape. Recent Tripadvisor guests praise spacious, refreshed rooms, while Expedia reviews repeatedly highlight helpful staff and excellent housekeeping. Its location is particularly convenient for Spectrum Center and downtown dining. It’s a strong pick for business trips and occasion weekends when convenience matters.
The compromises matter at this level. Tripadvisor guests repeatedly report intrusive street noise, with some also describing disappointing problem handling. More importantly, the hotel currently confirms public-space and dining renovations, with its main restaurant unavailable; Sweet July Cafe and in-room dining remain alternatives. Bourbon Steak’s own website now targets early 2027. We’d skip it for a quiet retreat or a celebration built around a complete luxury dining experience.
