7.3/10
Friendly staff and useful freebies, but tired rooms keep this Hampton from standing out.
This is a no-frills chain hotel near UNC Charlotte, best treated as a practical overnight base rather than a destination. Free hot breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi help the value, and the light rail is within a ten-minute walk for trips into Uptown. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the welcoming front desk; many recent Expedia reviewers also report clean rooms and comfortable beds.
The catch is upkeep. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly describe dated rooms, worn carpets and slow elevators, with some reporting musty smells and uneven cleaning. Those complaints sit alongside plenty of satisfied stays, so this isn't an automatic skip—but we'd choose it for convenience, not freshness. The pool is outdoor and seasonally closed, including in October. It's a reasonable short-stay option for campus visits or concerts; skip it if modern rooms and consistent maintenance matter most.
