8.0/10
Strong family fun, but extras and uneven housekeeping take the shine off.
Great Wolf Lodge Concord is a mid-range family water-park resort, not a quiet Charlotte hotel. It’s a strong pick for a short, kid-focused getaway: the indoor water park is included, family suites offer useful space, and daily activities keep children occupied between swims. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the family entertainment and friendly staff, with lifeguards earning particular recognition.
The catch is that included water-park access doesn’t make this an all-inclusive stay. Parking, meals and extra attractions add up, and guests regularly question the food’s value. Recent housekeeping reports are uneven: many describe clean, comfortable rooms, while several Tripadvisor guests flag dirty floors and neglected bunk areas. Busy weekends also bring crowded pools and competition for seating. We’d skip it for a restful couples’ break or if you won’t use the water park much.

Best for: families with water-loving children; short, activity-packed getaways; families wanting entertainment under one roof
Watch out for: parking and activity extras add up; crowded water park on busy weekends; uneven room housekeeping
Location: In Concord near shopping, restaurants and Charlotte Motor Speedway—not central Charlotte.
Rooms: Spacious family suites and themed bunk areas; some guests report worn bedding or maintenance lapses.
Cleanliness: Broadly positive on Expedia, but repeated recent Tripadvisor reports suggest inconsistent housekeeping.
Service: Friendly staff and attentive lifeguards earn frequent praise; front-desk attentiveness is less consistent.
Amenities: Indoor water park and daily family activities included; arcade and other paid attractions extend the entertainment.
Fees and surprises: On-site parking costs extra; budget separately for meals, lockers and paid attractions.
