A practical Usaquén base, but breakfast and room comfort need careful expectations. a simple, budget-minded hotel in northern Bogotá’s Usaquén district, scored for what it is.

Santa Barbara Real is a simple, budget-minded hotel in Usaquén, despite its own four-star billing. We'd consider it for a short stay when northern Bogotá is where you need to be: Usaquén’s restaurants, Hacienda Santa Bárbara and Fundación Santa Fe hospital are nearby. Booking.com and Expedia guests regularly praise the location, helpful staff and clean rooms, though the overall feedback is mixed rather than glowing.

The compromises are worth knowing before booking. Recent guests describe dark rooms, traffic noise and uneven maintenance; Wi-Fi also draws complaints. Breakfast is the clearest recurring frustration: although the hotel advertises a buffet, many Booking.com guests report that their included option was only bread and drinks, with extras charged separately. Confirm your exact breakfast inclusion and parking arrangements. We'd skip it for a quiet getaway or a work trip requiring dependable internet.

• Best for: budget-conscious short stays; visits to Fundación Santa Fe; travelers with plans in Usaquén

• Watch out for: limited breakfast inclusions; traffic noise and dark rooms; inconsistent Wi-Fi

• Location: Convenient for Usaquén restaurants, shopping and Fundación Santa Fe; choose it for northern Bogotá plans.

• Rooms: Simple rooms with desks and safes; darkness, noise and maintenance attract recurring criticism.

• Cleanliness: Often praised in recent reviews, but not consistently enough to call spotless.

• Service: Helpful reception staff earn frequent praise, alongside occasional complaints about attitude and consistency.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, free Wi-Fi, elevator and 24-hour reception; airport transfers cost extra.

• Fees and surprises: Confirm breakfast contents and supplements; parking listings conflict, so verify availability and charges directly.
