Axel's take: 8.5/10

Dependable comfort and excellent hospitality, with some dated edges. a traditional upscale business hotel in northern Bogotá, scored for what it is.

Dann Carlton Bogotá is a traditional upscale business hotel that delivers where it counts: clean, comfortable rooms, attentive staff and a well-liked breakfast buffet. It's a strong pick for business in northern Bogotá or travelers who prefer an established, full-service hotel over a fashionable boutique. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the hospitality, while Booking.com's cleanliness and comfort scores reinforce the positive picture. Breakfast and parking are included, adding practical value.

The trade-offs are location and uneven modernization. This is not a convenient base for exploring the historic center on foot, and some guests describe tired bathrooms or furnishings. Noise also appears in reviews on more than one site, though it isn't the dominant experience. We'd ask for a quiet room and skip it if contemporary design or doorstep sightseeing matters most.

• Best for: business travelers in northern Bogotá; travelers who value attentive service; guests who prefer traditional full-service hotels

• Watch out for: some dated bathrooms and furnishings; noise can reach certain rooms; removed from historic-center sightseeing

• Location: Useful for northern Bogotá's business districts; less convenient for historic-center sightseeing.

• Rooms: Comfort scores are strong, but some guests report dated fittings and intrusive noise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise, particularly in reception and the restaurant.

• Amenities: Buffet breakfast, restaurant, bar, gym, sauna and free on-site parking.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and early check-in or late checkout carry extra charges.
