Hotels in Barcelonaa family-friendly 4-star chain hotel near Glòries
7.8/10
Strong breakfast and rooftop views, but room upkeep needs more consistency.
Novotel Barcelona City is a family-friendly 4-star near Glòries: a practical Barcelona base rather than a characterful retreat. We'd consider it for easy metro access, shopping next door and the 19th-floor rooftop views. Expedia and Booking.com guests regularly praise the helpful staff and breakfast, and overall guest ratings remain strong. It's particularly useful for families and business travelers who don't need the old town outside their door.
The reservation is room upkeep. Recent Expedia guests mention dated bathrooms and maintenance issues, while several October 2026 Accor reviews report shower mould and uneven problem handling. Family rooms can feel tight with the sofa bed open. The rooftop pool is small, and the hotel advertises an April–October season; guests also report occasional event restrictions upstairs. We'd skip it if spotless bathrooms, generous family space or walking everywhere are priorities.

Best for: families comfortable using public transport; business travelers around Glòries; travelers who prioritize breakfast and city views
Watch out for: recurring bathroom upkeep and mould reports; compact family rooms; small seasonal pool and occasional rooftop restrictions
Location: Near Glòries metro and Westfield shopping; outside the old-town core and not beachfront.
Rooms: Generally comfortable, but some look dated; sofa-bed family layouts can be cramped.
Cleanliness: Broadly positive ratings, tempered by several October 2026 reports of shower mould and cleaning lapses.
Service: Friendly staff earn frequent praise; check-in and complaint resolution are less consistent.
Amenities: Rooftop bar, small seasonal pool, gym and children's play area; hammam requires booking and an extra charge.
Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra; check breakfast inclusion and rooftop availability before booking.
