Hotels in Barcelonaa modern 4-star in Poblenou, near the beach and metro
8.5/10
A comfortable Poblenou base, but soundproofing and a long pool closure need weighing.
Hotel Paxton Barcelona is a modern 4-star in Poblenou, a strong pick for neighborhood restaurants, beach walks and metro access rather than doorstep sightseeing. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Tripadvisor reviews also frequently applaud the generous breakfast. We'd choose it for a comfortable city break outside the busiest tourist streets, with Bogatell Beach roughly 15 minutes away on foot.
The main reservation is soundproofing: street and neighboring-room noise recur across review sites, and some guests find storage limited. The small rooftop pool is a bonus, not a swimming destination—and the hotel currently lists it closed from September 14, 2026 through April 12, 2027. We'd skip it if a pool is essential during those dates, or if you're a light sleeper unwilling to risk noise.
