Hotels in Barcelonaa five-star beachfront high-rise with renovated rooms and ongoing construction
8.3/10
Excellent rooms and sea views, but construction compromises the luxury-resort promise.
Hotel Arts Barcelona is a five-star beachfront high-rise, strongest for travelers who want generous rooms and Mediterranean views rather than an old-town doorstep. We'd shortlist it for the refurbished bedrooms and generally warm, capable staff: recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise both, alongside comfortable beds and cleanliness. It delivers convincing luxury indoors, though the wider resort experience remains unfinished.
The substantial renovation is the deciding caveat. The hotel now says work continues through June 2027; booking sites flag one pool, the spa, and dining and bar facilities as affected. Wellness treatments continue in relocated rooms, but confirm exactly what will operate during your stay. Some recent guests also report delayed check-in and uneven housekeeping coordination. We'd skip it for an uninterrupted pool-and-spa escape, or if walking straight into Barcelona's historic center matters more than being beside the beach.

Excellent rooms and sea views, but construction compromises the luxury-resort promise. a five-star beachfront high-rise with renovated rooms and ongoing construction, scored for what it is.

We'd shortlist it for the refurbished bedrooms and generally warm, capable staff: recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise both, alongside comfortable beds and cleanliness. We'd skip it for an uninterrupted pool-and-spa escape, or if walking straight into Barcelona's historic center matters more than being beside the beach.
Best for: couples prioritizing sea views; travelers wanting spacious luxury rooms; beach-and-city breaks
Watch out for: major renovation through June 2027; pool, spa and dining restrictions; less convenient for historic-center sightseeing
Location: Beside the beach and Olympic Port; better for waterfront walks than doorstep access to historic sights.
Rooms: Renovated, spacious bedrooms earn strong praise for comfort and sea or city views.
Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, with some recent reports of delayed or missed housekeeping.
Service: Warm staff and helpful concierges stand out; arrival and housekeeping coordination can be uneven.
Amenities: Outdoor swimming, dining and relocated wellness treatments remain available, with renovation-related restrictions.
Fees and surprises: City tax and parking charges apply; Club Lounge access requires an eligible upgraded booking.
