#4 of 5 hotels in Meadows Field Airport by Axel's take. Meadows Field Airport is #6 of 7 places to stay in Bakersfield. The best hotels in Meadows Field Airport, ranked · Where to stay in Bakersfield

Axel's take: 8.0/10

A practical airport stop with friendly staff, though rooms show their age. a straightforward limited-service chain hotel near the airport, scored for what it is.

This limited-service Hampton is a strong pick for an airport overnight or Highway 99 stop, rather than a Bakersfield sightseeing base. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the included hot breakfast. Free parking and Wi-Fi make it good value for travelers who want the basics covered without much fuss.

The main compromise is condition: several guests describe dated rooms, with occasional housekeeping lapses despite the generally positive cleanliness feedback. Airport travelers should also know Hilton explicitly lists no airport shuttle. Hilton advertises an outdoor pool and fitness center, but Expedia lists both as closed five days a week; confirm availability before booking. We'd skip it if fresh interiors, dependable recreation facilities or a walkable downtown location matter most.

Best for: early-flight travelers with transportation; Highway 99 road-trippers; families wanting breakfast included
Watch out for: dated rooms and occasional cleaning lapses; no airport shuttle; conflicting pool and gym availability
Location: Convenient to Meadows Field and Highway 99; better with a car than as a downtown base.
Rooms: Guests appreciate the space and comfort, but several describe aging interiors.
Cleanliness: Mostly praised in recent reviews, with some reports of dirty carpets, odors or missed cleaning.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength, despite occasional problem-handling complaints.
Amenities: Hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking included; confirm pool and gym hours because listings conflict.
Fees and surprises: Pet fees apply; Expedia lists a breakage deposit and charges for early check-in or late checkout.
