#7 of 9 hotels in California Avenue by Axel's take. California Avenue is #3 of 7 places to stay in Bakersfield. The best hotels in California Avenue, ranked · Where to stay in Bakersfield
Axel's take: 6.4/10
Useful kitchens and friendly staff, but too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. A no-frills 2-star extended-stay hotel with in-room kitchens, scored for what it is.
This is a basic 2-star extended-stay hotel whose main selling point is practical: every studio has a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator. Free parking, Wi-Fi and guest laundry make it workable for longer budget stays. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff, but the overall feedback on Expedia, Booking.com and Tripadvisor remains mixed. We'd consider it for the cooking facilities, not for a reliably restful stopover.
Noise is the clearest drawback: guests describe nearby trains, freeway traffic and disturbances from neighboring rooms. Recent reviews also flag uneven maintenance, uncomfortable mattresses and missing kitchen equipment. Breakfast is advertised as grab-and-go, but an October 2026 Expedia guest reported neither breakfast nor coffee was available. Confirm supplies before buying groceries; light sleepers and travelers expecting daily housekeeping should look elsewhere.
-

-

-

-
