Hotels in BakersfieldAn older budget, motel-style hotel off Highway 99
5.2/10
Convenient for a stopover, but recurring housekeeping and maintenance problems make it hard to recommend.
This is an older budget, motel-style hotel off Highway 99, not a polished mid-range stay. Free breakfast, parking and WiFi, an outdoor pool and pet-friendly rooms give it useful road-trip basics. Some recent Expedia and Hotels.com guests praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff. Still, the overall ratings are weak, and we'd treat it as a fallback rather than a dependable overnight choice.
The bigger issue is consistency: Tripadvisor reviews from 2026 repeatedly describe dirty bathrooms, mildew and neglected fixtures, while Google reviews also include reports of insects and broken room equipment. Other guests mention nighttime disturbances and unhelpful responses when something fails. These aren't just complaints about dated decor; they concern the basics even a simple hotel should deliver. We'd skip it for families, light sleepers or anyone wanting reliably clean accommodation.

Rooms: Some guests find the beds comfortable, but worn bathrooms and broken fixtures recur in reviews.
Cleanliness: Clean-room praise is offset by repeated reports of dirty tubs, mildew, stained bedding and insects.

Fees and surprises: Booking sites list an incidental deposit, pet fees and a pet deposit; confirm requirements before arrival.
