#4 of 4 hotels in Southwest Bakersfield by Axel's take. Southwest Bakersfield is #4 of 7 places to stay in Bakersfield. The best hotels in Southwest Bakersfield, ranked · Where to stay in Bakersfield

Axel's take: 7.5/10

Comfortable renovated rooms make this a practical stop, but facilities remain a compromise. a renovated 3-star business hotel in a low-rise complex, scored for what it is.

This low-rise 3-star business hotel is a good pick for a Bakersfield overnight, particularly if you’re driving. Marriott says the rooms and outdoor pool have been refreshed, and recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious, clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff. Free parking adds practical value. We’d choose it for straightforward comfort rather than a polished, full-service experience.

The older buildings and grounds don’t consistently match the refreshed interiors, and there’s no elevator: request a ground-floor room if stairs are difficult. More importantly, Expedia lists the fitness center and hot tub as unavailable until November 1, 2026, with dates subject to change. Breakfast costs extra, and Marriott says there’s no airport shuttle. Skip it if workouts, step-free access to an upstairs room or a downtown location are priorities.

  • Best for: road-trip overnight stops; business travelers with a car; travelers prioritizing spacious rooms

  • Watch out for: fitness center and hot tub closure listed until November 1, 2026; no elevators; older grounds and common areas

  • Location: Business-district base near shops and dining; a car is useful for downtown and major attractions.

  • Rooms: Renovated, spacious interiors earn praise for comfort; upstairs rooms require stairs.

  • Cleanliness: Recent room-cleanliness feedback is largely positive; grounds and shared areas draw more criticism.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength across guest-review sites.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool and Bistro restaurant; confirm reopening of the fitness center and hot tub before booking.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is free; breakfast costs extra, an incidental deposit applies, and there is no airport shuttle.
