Hotels in Barcelonaan intimate, adults-only five-star boutique hotel in the Gothic Quarter
9.1/10
Personal service makes this intimate Gothic Quarter hotel stand out, despite its dark rooms.
Wittmore is a 22-room, adults-only five-star boutique hotel, and a strong pick for couples who prefer personal attention to big-hotel facilities. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, cleanliness and comfortable beds; breakfast also earns unusually consistent enthusiasm. The courtyard, complimentary minibars and rooftop plunge pool give it character beyond its convenient Gothic Quarter address.
The main compromise is light and space. Rooms face the internal garden, several guests find them decidedly dark, and entry-level rooms are compact for this class. We'd choose a larger room on a higher floor if daylight matters. Taxis generally cannot reach the entrance, so coordinate luggage help before arriving. Skip it if you want bright street views, doorstep car access or a pool for swimming laps.

Best for: couples seeking an intimate luxury stay; Old Town sightseeing on foot; travelers who prioritize personal service
Watch out for: dark, inward-facing rooms; compact entry-level rooms; taxi drop-off short of the entrance
Location: Walkable Gothic Quarter setting on a narrow side street; arrange help with luggage.
Rooms: Comfortable and thoughtfully furnished; Small rooms are approximately 19 square meters, with garden-facing windows.
Cleanliness: Recent reviews across Tripadvisor and Expedia consistently praise housekeeping and upkeep.
Service: Warm, attentive staff are the clearest recurring strength, including helpful handling of problems.
Amenities: Contraban restaurant, courtyard, rooftop terrace and plunge pool; not a full-scale resort.
Fees and surprises: City tax is collected at the property; breakfast may cost extra, while room minibars are complimentary.
