Axel's take: 7.8/10
A well-located, clean base for exploring Barcelona, provided you can travel light. a simple 2-star guesthouse with private bathrooms in Gràcia, scored for what it is.
Bonavista is a simple 2-star guesthouse, or Spanish hostal, rather than a full-service hotel. We'd choose it for a short sightseeing break: Gràcia's restaurants are close, Diagonal metro is handy, and La Pedrera is an easy walk. Booking.com and recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and helpful staff. The official site advertises renovated rooms, though it gives no renovation date.
The compromise is space: small bedrooms, tight showers and minimal furniture recur across reviews. Noise from neighboring rooms, corridors and morning cleaning also comes up, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. Free Wi-Fi, a terrace and round-the-clock reception cover the basics, but don't expect somewhere to spread out or work comfortably. It's a good fit for travelers spending most of the day outside; we'd skip it for a roomy, quiet retreat.
-

-
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, outdoor terrace, elevator and communal water dispenser cover the essentials.
