Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong extended-stay choice for space and friendly service, rather than polished rooms. A practical 3-star all-suite hotel for longer stays, scored for what it is.

This 3-star all-suite Residence Inn is a strong pick for longer stays and families who want a proper kitchen rather than just a minibar. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious accommodation and helpful staff; the breakfast team gets particularly consistent recognition. Included breakfast, free parking and an outdoor pool make it a practical base for travelers with a car.

The trade-off is comfort and finish rather than a widespread service problem: some guests describe worn furnishings or uncomfortable beds, and a recent family review specifically criticizes the sofa-bed mattress. Colonial Boulevard is better suited to driving than strolling out for dinner. We'd choose it for useful space and welcoming service, but skip it for a walkable vacation setting or reliably fresh-looking rooms.

• Best for: Families wanting kitchen-equipped suites; Longer stays with a car; Business travelers needing workspace

• Watch out for: Some reports of worn furnishings and uncomfortable beds; Car-oriented location; Housekeeping every other day

• Location: Convenient for driving around Fort Myers; less appealing for walking to dinner.

• Rooms: Kitchen-equipped studios and larger suites; some guests question furniture and mattress comfort.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive, including praise across Tripadvisor and Expedia.

• Service: Friendly front-desk and breakfast staff are the most consistent strengths.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, outdoor pool, fitness center and guest laundry.

• Fees and surprises: On-site parking is free; pets incur a nonrefundable fee, and there is no airport shuttle.
