Stay here for the classic Fort Lauderdale holiday: oceanfront walks, beach bars, terrace dinners and little need to drive between them. A1A supplies the main promenade, with Bonnet House toward the northern end. This is also the natural beach base for LGBTQ visitors, rather than the inland nightlife around Wilton Drive.
- Best for
- first-time visitorsluxury travelersnightlifeLGBTQ+ travelers
- Skip it if
- You want reliably quiet evenings; Museums and downtown dining matter more than sand
- Getting around
- Walk the beachfront; BCT 11 and 40 serve A1A. From FLL, use a taxi/rideshare or Route 1 then 11; from MIA, a road transfer is simplest.
- After dark
- Beach bars keep the main strip animated; expect a much rowdier atmosphere around Las Olas during spring break.
