For one shared bedroom, start with Petit Palace Boquería Garden in the Gothic Quarter for sightseeing, or Catalonia Boulevard Hotel in Eixample Esquerra for regular beds and easy Diagonal metro access. Casa Gracia Barcelona in Eixample Esquerra is the lowest-cost option if everyone accepts bunks. For the most space, Casagrand Luxury Suites in Eixample Esquerra offers a self-contained apartment—not one shared bedroom—with a kitchen and washing machine.
How to choose
- Choose Petit Palace Boquería Garden if you want Gothic Quarter sightseeing on foot and can confirm the children's bed layout.

- Choose Casa Gracia Barcelona - Hostel if lowest cost matters more than a double bed for the adults.

Questions families ask
Will we get two queens, two doubles or separate beds for the children?
Do not assume a room for four means two queens. InterContinental and Catalonia Park Putxet list two doubles; Hesperia's Family Suite lists two queens, but needs confirmation. Catalonia Boulevard lists a king and two twins. NH Sants uses a queen and shared sofa bed, while Casa Gracia puts everyone in bunks.
Can we add a crib or rollaway to a room for four?
Do not rely on adding another bed. Casagrand and Petit Palace list no rollaways. Hesperia offers free cribs on request, but its extra-bed policies conflict. InterContinental's crib charges also need checking. At Catalonia Park Putxet, a free crib is offered on request, but fitting it into an occupied quadruple room is not confirmed.
How much more does a room for four cost than a double?
There is no dependable fixed uplift over a double room: compare the exact four-person category for your dates. Casa Gracia, Petit Palace and NH Sants are lower-cost starting points here. Larger apartments trade a higher overall cost for kitchens and extra space. Check breakfast inclusion, since it varies across these hotels.
Which neighborhoods make the easiest family base?
The Gothic Quarter works well for sightseeing on foot: Petit Palace is near the Boqueria and Liceu metro, while Hesperia suits waterfront walks. Eixample around Diagonal is useful for Gaudí sights and subway connections. Sants suits train arrivals, but expect more metro journeys. Putxet is residential, with a noticeable uphill return from transport.
Does a family room always mean one shared bedroom?
No. Check the layout, not just the family label. Catalonia Boulevard has both a single-bedroom Family Room and a separate connecting category. Majestic and Casagrand offer self-contained apartments with multiple bedrooms, rather than one shared sleeping room. If everyone must sleep together, confirm the exact category and bed arrangement before booking.
