Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong Old Town choice for character, breakfast and genuinely helpful service. a maritime-themed 4-star boutique hotel in Stockholm’s Old Town, scored for what it is.

Victory is a maritime-themed 4-star boutique hotel in Gamla Stan, and we'd put it high on the list for a characterful Stockholm break. Nautical antiques and individually decorated rooms give it personality beyond the usual city hotel. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the generous breakfast, comfortable beds and welcoming staff; Booking.com also scores cleanliness particularly well. The Old Town sights and nearby metro make sightseeing straightforward.

Choose your room carefully: Small Doubles are genuinely compact, and this is traditional, richly decorated accommodation rather than minimalist Scandinavian design. Coffee and tea stations are in the corridors, while sauna sessions cost extra and need booking. Restaurant schedules vary seasonally; Expedia lists dining closures from December 20, 2026, to January 7, 2027. We'd skip it if spacious rooms and extensive leisure facilities matter more than location and character.

• Best for: couples on a city break; Old Town sightseeing; travelers who enjoy historic character

• Watch out for: compact Small Double rooms; sauna costs extra and needs booking; seasonal restaurant schedules and holiday closures

• Location: Central Gamla Stan, roughly two minutes from the metro and an easy walk to the Royal Palace.

• Rooms: Individually decorated nautical rooms; Small Doubles measure 12–16 square meters.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com scores and recent Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Recent guests repeatedly describe reception and breakfast staff as friendly and helpful.

• Amenities: Included buffet breakfast, restaurant and wine bar, free Wi-Fi, corridor coffee stations and a bookable sauna.

• Fees and surprises: Sauna sessions carry a charge; no onsite parking; Expedia lists holiday dining closures.
