#5 of 5 hotels in Solna & Arenastaden by Axel's take. Solna & Arenastaden is #8 of 8 places to stay in Stockholm. The best hotels in Solna & Arenastaden, ranked · Where to stay in Stockholm

Axel's take: 7.3/10

A useful Solna base with good breakfast, but summer comfort needs improvement. a practical 4-star business hotel beside the motorway in Solna, scored for what it is.

Scandic Järva Krog is a practical 4-star business hotel beside the E4/E18, rather than a central Stockholm sightseeing base. It's a good pick for work trips or Strawberry Arena events if you accept the setting. Expedia and Booking.com guests generally praise cleanliness, helpful staff and the breakfast buffet; the overall picture is solid rather than special. Standard rooms are compact, and the gym and sauna add useful extras.

The main catch is the combination of warm rooms and motorway noise: several recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests report no air conditioning and traffic noise when opening windows. Parking costs extra, and breakfast is not necessarily included. Hotels.com lists hot-tub renovation from April 21, 2026, to April 21, 2027, matching summer guests' reports that it was unavailable. We'd skip it for a spa break or a city stay centered on walking everywhere.

  • Best for: business travelers working in Solna; Strawberry Arena eventgoers; travelers arriving by car

  • Watch out for: warm rooms and motorway noise; hot-tub renovation scheduled through April 2027; paid parking; check breakfast inclusion

  • Location: Convenient for the E4/E18 and Solna events, but outside central Stockholm.

  • Rooms: Standard rooms measure 18 square meters; recent guests repeatedly mention heat and limited cooling.

  • Cleanliness: Generally well rated across Booking.com and Expedia, without a dominant recurring cleanliness problem.

  • Service: Mostly praised as friendly and helpful, though recent Tripadvisor reports are more mixed.

  • Amenities: Gym, sauna, restaurant and loan bikes; confirm hot-tub availability, and note Sunday dinner closure.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is paid, breakfast may cost extra, and the hotel is cash-free.
