#2 of 9 hotels in Vasastan by Axel's take. Vasastan is #5 of 8 places to stay in Stockholm. The best hotels in Vasastan, ranked · Where to stay in Stockholm

Axel's take: 9.0/10

Come for the breakfast and warm service; choose your room carefully. a characterful 4-star boutique hotel in Stockholm’s Vasastan neighborhood, scored for what it is.

Hotel Ruth is a characterful 4-star boutique hotel in Vasastan, and a strong pick if you prefer neighborhood restaurants to being beside the main sights. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, comfortable beds and unusually generous included breakfast. Cleanliness also scores strongly across Booking.com and Expedia. We'd choose it for a relaxed city break with personality rather than big-hotel grandeur.

The main compromise is space: smaller bedrooms and bathrooms draw recurring comments, and recent guests report no air-conditioning. We'd skip it if summer cooling or generous room space is essential. Outside construction affected a guest’s view in May 2026, and management acknowledged it in July; check whether it remains before booking. The main sightseeing areas are a transit ride or longer walk away.

Best for: couples on a city break; breakfast enthusiasts; travelers who prefer a neighborhood base
Watch out for: compact bedrooms and bathrooms; no air-conditioning reported by recent guests; outside construction: confirm current status
Location: Restaurant-rich Vasastan, with metro stations within roughly ten minutes’ walk; not beside the main sights.
Rooms: Comfortable beds and individual decor; room sizes vary, and some bathrooms have awkward steps or tubs.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength, backed by high cleanliness ratings on Booking.com and Expedia.
Service: Warm, helpful staff attract unusually consistent praise across the major review sites.
Amenities: Included breakfast, bar and Flor restaurant; the kitchen currently operates Wednesday through Sunday evenings.
Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra; outside construction was acknowledged in July 2026, and Bellboy announced its acquisition in August.
