#1 of 1 hotels in Xujiahui by Axel's take. Xujiahui is #8 of 8 places to stay in Shanghai. The best hotels in Xujiahui, ranked · Where to stay in Shanghai

Axel's take: 8.3/10

Warm service and handy metro access outweigh the dated rooms. a full-service 4-star business hotel in Xujiahui, scored for what it is.

This full-service 4-star in Xujiahui is a strong pick for travelers who prioritize helpful staff and practical convenience over fresh interiors. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the service, while recent Trip.com reviews highlight nearby shopping, restaurants and metro access. Cleanliness generally earns strong marks, and the indoor pool and gym give it more substance than a basic business hotel.

The main compromise is age: guests across sites describe dated furniture, and some Tripadvisor reviewers report rooms that run too warm or have unreliable cooling. Those complaints matter, but the broader feedback remains positive rather than suggesting widespread neglect. We'd choose it for business trips or a well-connected city base; we'd skip it if contemporary rooms and precise temperature control are priorities. Check whether breakfast and lounge access are included before booking.

  • Best for: business travelers; metro-based city exploring; shopping and dining in Xujiahui

  • Watch out for: dated room furnishings; some reports of unreliable cooling; breakfast and lounge access depend on booking

  • Location: Walkable access to Xujiahui metro, shopping malls and restaurants is a consistent guest highlight.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and maintained, but dated furnishings and occasional cooling problems limit the appeal.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall: Expedia and Booking.com cleanliness scores support the mostly positive recent feedback.

  • Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength, with particularly enthusiastic praise for the executive lounge team.

  • Amenities: Marriott confirms an indoor pool, fitness center, dining and an executive lounge with conditional access.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra; breakfast inclusion varies, and Marriott explicitly says there is no airport shuttle.
