Axel's take: 8.7/10

Generous suites and warm service make this a strong family all-inclusive. A luxury all-inclusive residence resort in Nuevo Nayarit, scored for what it is.

Marival Distinct is a luxury all-inclusive residence resort in Nuevo Nayarit, strongest for families who want proper living space rather than a standard hotel room. We'd pick it for its enormous suites, relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and dining, particularly Mozzamare and Insú; recent Accor reviews largely reinforce that picture. It feels geared toward comfortable, unhurried holidays rather than nonstop entertainment.

The trade-offs matter: most accommodations sit back from the sand, with a short walk to the beach club. Some recent guests flag maintenance wear, slow meals and timeshare invitations. Expedia also lists one unnamed dining venue closed September 1–October 31, so October visitors should confirm restaurant availability. We'd skip it for nightlife or flawless, cutting-edge luxury, but it's a strong choice for spacious family stays.

• Best for: Families wanting separate bedrooms; Multigenerational holidays; Travelers preferring a quieter all-inclusive

• Watch out for: Short walk from most suites to the beach; Timeshare invitations; Seasonal restaurant closures and occasional maintenance issues

• Location: In Nuevo Nayarit rather than central Puerto Vallarta; guests describe a roughly three-to-four-minute walk to the beach club.

• Rooms: Exceptionally spacious residence-style layouts; kitchens and laundry are useful, though some recent Accor guests report maintenance wear.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Tripadvisor, Expedia and recent verified Accor reviews.

• Service: Warm, attentive staff earn repeated praise; restaurant service can occasionally be slow.

• Amenities: Pools, Mozzamare beach club, Mélange spa and access to sister resort Marival Emotions broaden the quieter on-site offering.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a deposit and potentially chargeable airport transfers; confirm package inclusions and the September–October dining closure.
