Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong beach-first all-inclusive, with warm staff and less consistent dining. an upscale, family-friendly beachfront all-inclusive south of Puerto Vallarta, scored for what it is.

This upscale, family-friendly all-inclusive south of Puerto Vallarta is a strong pick for travelers who want their holiday centered on the beach. The sheltered shoreline and ocean-view balconies are the main attractions, backed by two pools, activities and plenty of places to eat and drink. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and friendly staff; recent Tripadvisor reviews reinforce that picture. We'd choose it for an easy resort stay rather than flawless luxury.

The trade-offs are uneven dining reviews, some room wear and occasional housekeeping or elevator delays. The adults-only areas don't make this an adults-only resort, and recent families report limited kids-club capacity. Downtown requires transport rather than a casual stroll. We'd skip it if exceptional food, guaranteed childcare or walking straight into Vallarta's restaurant scene matters most.

• Best for: Families who prioritize beach time; Couples wanting an easy all-inclusive; Travelers who enjoy resort activities

• Watch out for: Uneven dining experiences; Limited kids-club capacity; Transport needed for downtown

• Location: Sheltered beachfront south of town; Hilton puts historic downtown less than 15 minutes away by car.

• Rooms: Spacious ocean-view rooms with balconies; generally comfortable, with some guests noting wear.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across sites, despite occasional reports of late housekeeping.

• Service: Friendly restaurant and activity staff earn repeated praise; follow-through can be uneven.

• Amenities: Two pools, kids and teens clubs, entertainment, a gym and spa; childcare availability is not guaranteed.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking is included; airport transfers and spa treatments cost extra, and Enclave benefits require an upgrade.
