Axel's take: 8.8/10

Choose it for spacious suites and bay views, not walk-out beach access. A luxury all-suite hillside resort above Conchas Chinas, not a beachfront hotel, scored for what it is.

Grand Miramar is a luxury all-suite hillside resort, and we'd pick it for a quiet, view-focused stay rather than a beach holiday. Its generous suites and balconies are the main draw, backed by pools, rooftop dining and consistently strong cleanliness feedback. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, breakfast and peaceful atmosphere. It delivers particularly well if your ideal day involves pool time and sunsets rather than constant exploring.

The trade-off is the steep Conchas Chinas location: expect taxis or rideshares for convenient trips to restaurants, nightlife and the beach. Some Tripadvisor guests find the interiors dated or report uneven front-desk handling, though these are minority complaints against overwhelmingly positive feedback. Hotels.com also lists a nightly resort fee and seasonal spa and restaurant closures. We'd skip it if walkability or sleek, contemporary luxury matters more than space and scenery.

• Best for: Couples seeking quiet and bay views; Travelers who prioritize spacious suites; Pool-focused getaways

• Watch out for: Steep hillside location; transport needed; Nightly resort fee; Seasonal spa and dining closures

• Location: Quiet Conchas Chinas hillside with panoramic bay views; neither beachfront nor conveniently walkable.

• Rooms: Large suites with furnished balconies; some guests find the interiors dated.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength, with consistently strong ratings and repeated praise for rooms and pools.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff earn broad praise; occasional front-desk inconsistencies appear on Tripadvisor.

• Amenities: Four outdoor pools, rooftop dining, gym and spa; Hotels.com lists spa and one dining venue closures July–September.

• Fees and surprises: Hotels.com lists a nightly resort fee and extra-charge airport transfers; confirm breakfast inclusions and seasonal openings.
