Axel's take: 7.8/10

Excellent pools and dining, but recent disruptions make this a cautious luxury pick. A luxury adults-only, all-inclusive beachfront resort, scored for what it is.

Secrets Moxché is a luxury adults-only all-inclusive whose strongest arguments are its pools, stylish suites and restaurant choice. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the food and attentive staff; Expedia’s overall 9.2 reflects a largely satisfied clientele. For couples who prefer pool-hopping to ocean swimming, there’s plenty to like.

But we’d book cautiously right now. September–October 2026 reviews describe construction noise, compromised views and beach conditions that disappoint swimmers. September reports also named closures at the oceanfront pool and SeaSoul restaurant; a later guest reported the pool reopened, so confirm both facilities directly. Multiple October Tripadvisor reviews report gastrointestinal illness, without establishing its cause; other recent guests report trouble-free stays. Those concerns matter at this level. We’d skip it for guaranteed quiet or a beach-first holiday, and seek clear answers about current works before committing.

  • Best for: Couples who prioritize pools over the beach; Adults wanting varied dining and entertainment

  • Watch out for: Recent construction noise and affected views; Seaweed and disappointing ocean swimming; Repeated recent guest illness reports; cause unverified

  • Location: Beachfront in Corasol, outside central Playa del Carmen; recent guests describe seaweed affecting swimming.

  • Rooms: Suites have furnished outdoor space; some recent guests report musty smells or construction-facing views.

  • Cleanliness: Expedia’s cleanliness score is strong at 9.6, but repeated October illness reports warrant attention without proving a sanitation failure.

  • Service: Warm, attentive staff are a consistent strength across Expedia and Booking.com reviews.

  • Amenities: Hyatt lists seven pools, three artificial cenotes, entertainment and a spa; rooftop pool access requires Preferred Club.

  • Fees and surprises: Preferred Club privileges cost extra; confirm construction exposure and oceanfront pool/SeaSoul availability before booking.
