Hotels in Pittsburgha renovated historic 4-star in downtown Pittsburgh, now The Atterbury
8.3/10
A strong downtown pick for ballgames and theater, with parking hassles to plan around.
The former Renaissance Pittsburgh is now The Atterbury, Autograph Collection, following a renovation and June 2026 relaunch. This historic 4-star is a strong pick for a downtown weekend: theaters and restaurants are close, and PNC Park is across the Clemente Bridge. River-facing rooms are worth prioritizing. Recent Expedia guests praise clean rooms, the refreshed interiors and helpful staff, making the current picture brighter than older renovation-era reviews suggest.
The main compromise is consistency around arrival and service. Tripadvisor guests report delayed check-in and uneven assistance, while early post-relaunch feedback describes stretched bar staffing. Parking remains awkward: the garage opposite can fill during games, and valet availability has drawn complaints. We'd choose it for walkable sightseeing and baseball, but skip it if effortless parking and reliably polished service are essential.

Best for: baseball weekends; theatergoers; downtown sightseeing on foot
Watch out for: game-day parking congestion; occasional check-in and service delays; older reviews reflect pre-renovation conditions
Location: Cultural District setting beside the Clemente Bridge, convenient for theaters and PNC Park.
Rooms: Renovated interiors earn recent praise; select a river-view category if the outlook matters.
Cleanliness: Recent Expedia feedback is strongly positive, despite occasional housekeeping lapses elsewhere.
Service: Many guests praise the staff, but check-in and bar service have not been uniformly smooth.
Amenities: The Drafting Room gastrobar, complimentary gym and room service; no airport shuttle.
Fees and surprises: Paid valet, off-site garage without in/out privileges, and a nonrefundable pet fee; now branded The Atterbury.
