Hotels in PittsburghA historic 4-star boutique hotel in downtown Pittsburgh
7.8/10
Downtown character and friendly staff, but compact rooms keep it from feeling upscale.
Joinery is a historic 4-star boutique hotel in Pittsburgh’s Golden Triangle, and a good pick for a short city stay rather than a luxury escape. Its distinctive lobby and rooftop terrace give it more personality than a standard business hotel. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The downtown location works well for exploring on foot, with restaurants and light rail nearby.
The main compromise is space: small standard rooms are a recurring complaint across Expedia, Tripadvisor and Reddit, and some have limited daylight or unappealing views. Noise also crops up in guest feedback, though experiences vary. Paid valet parking and a mandatory historical preservation fee add to the bill. We’d choose it for solo trips or couples’ weekends; skip it if spacious rooms and reliably upscale comfort matter most.
