8.2/10
A strong downtown base with spacious rooms, friendly staff and practical arrival trade-offs.
EVEN is a wellness-focused, mid-range hotel in the former Kaufmann’s department store—not a traditional luxury four-star. It’s a strong pick for exploring downtown without relying on a car. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Booking.com’s cleanliness and comfort ratings reinforce that picture. The gym and in-room exercise equipment give it something extra beyond the usual business-hotel basics.
The main inconvenience is arrival: reception is on the fifth floor, and paid parking is across the street. Dining earns mixed feedback, while some guests mention dim room lighting and uneven housekeeping, though cleanliness is generally a strength. There’s no pool. We’d choose it for business or a city weekend, but skip it if effortless luggage handling or full-service luxury matters most.
