7.7/10
A practical hospital-area base, but confirm the setup after its student-housing stint.
This is a no-frills Hampton for hospital appointments and university visits, not a downtown sightseeing base. Its strongest case is convenience: Hilton places Pitt and the Medical Center less than a mile away, with hot breakfast and Wi-Fi included. Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds; Booking.com’s overall picture is positive, though less enthusiastic. We'd shortlist it for a straightforward Oakland stay.
The cautions are compact rooms, some reports of wear, and paid parking. Tripadvisor guests also flag awkward sliding bathroom doors. More importantly, the property housed Pitt students during the 2025–26 academic year; WPXI reported that the university’s lease would end in summer 2026. Evidence about the subsequent guest experience is limited, so confirm normal hotel operations and any promised shuttle directly. We'd skip it for a polished getaway or a stay centered on downtown.

Cleanliness: Mostly positive guest feedback, with occasional housekeeping complaints rather than a clear widespread pattern.

Fees and surprises: Parking and pets carry extra charges; verify the current setup following the university lease.
