Hotels in Pittsburgha mid-range all-suite hotel in a historic downtown high-rise
8.1/10
Generous suites and breakfast make a strong downtown base, but rooms show wear.
This mid-range all-suite hotel occupies the upper floors of Pittsburgh’s historic Oliver Building, with reception on the 25th floor. It’s a strong pick for families and downtown weekends: separate living areas provide useful breathing room, while included made-to-order breakfast and evening reception add value. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the spacious suites, breakfast staff and central location; overall ratings remain solid across booking sites.
The trade-off is inconsistent upkeep rather than a lack of amenities. Several recent Tripadvisor guests describe dated rooms, broken fixtures or uneven housekeeping, although broader cleanliness ratings are positive. Hotel parking is paid valet only. Smithfield Street reconstruction began in September 2026 along the hotel’s corridor, so check arrival arrangements. We’d skip it if freshly updated interiors or a construction-free doorstep matter more than space and breakfast.

Best for: families wanting separate living space; downtown sightseeing weekends; travelers who value included breakfast
Watch out for: dated rooms and occasional maintenance lapses; paid valet-only hotel parking; Smithfield Street reconstruction
Location: Central downtown, a block from Wood Street Station; Smithfield Street roadworks affect the surrounding corridor.
Rooms: Separate living areas, microwaves and mini-fridges; recent guests report some tired furnishings and faulty fixtures.
Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness ratings, tempered by several reports of inconsistent housekeeping.
Service: Friendly front-desk and breakfast staff earn repeated praise; problem resolution is less consistent.
Amenities: Included cooked-to-order breakfast and evening reception, heated indoor pool, and on-site dining.
Fees and surprises: Paid valet parking with no hotel self-parking; pet fees apply, and check-in is on the 25th floor.
