#3 of 9 hotels in Chalong by Axel's take. Chalong is #6 of 12 places to stay in Phuket. The best hotels in Chalong, ranked · Where to stay in Phuket

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong fitness-focused retreat, but current gym renovations deserve attention. a five-star fitness and wellness resort in inland Rawai, scored for what it is.

STAY is a five-star wellness resort in inland Rawai, better suited to a training-and-pool holiday than a classic Phuket beach escape. We'd pick it for its substantial three-storey gym, four outdoor pools and unusually broad fitness offering. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and food, making this a convincing choice for travelers who will actually use its facilities.

The main compromise is location: beaches and much of the surrounding dining require transport, although a free beach shuttle helps. Crucially, the hotel says STAY FIT gym renovations run October 19–November 30, 2026; it remains open and classes continue, but daytime noise is possible. Check exactly which meals, classes and spa access your booking includes. We'd skip it for a walk-everywhere beach holiday or noise-sensitive training retreat during the works.

  • Best for: fitness-focused couples; solo wellness travelers; longer, resort-centered stays

  • Watch out for: Gym renovations October 19–November 30, 2026; Not beachfront; transport needed; Wellness inclusions vary by package

  • Location: Quiet inland Rawai setting; free beach shuttle helps, but this is not a walk-out beach resort.

  • Rooms: Modern suites and villas; guests regularly praise comfortable beds, with larger suites offering more living space.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia feedback.

  • Service: Warm, helpful staff attract repeated praise; occasional reception complaints are not the dominant picture.

  • Amenities: Four outdoor pools, a substantial gym, fitness classes, three restaurants and a recovery spa.

  • Fees and surprises: Refundable damage deposit required; verify breakfast and wellness inclusions, and expect possible daytime gym-renovation noise.
