#7 of 9 hotels in Cape Panwa by Axel's take. Cape Panwa is #10 of 12 places to stay in Phuket. The best hotels in Cape Panwa, ranked · Where to stay in Phuket

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A friendly waterfront base, provided you choose your room carefully. a small, simple waterfront boutique hotel in Ao Makham, scored for what it is.

Phuket Boat Quay makes more sense as a small, simple waterfront boutique hotel than a full-service four-star resort. We'd pick it for personable service, bay views and a relaxed poolside setting. Booking.com and Expedia both rate it very good, while recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff. It's a strong option if you prefer a quieter base away from Phuket's busiest tourist areas.

The room category matters: guests on Expedia and Trip.com warn that some lower-category rooms lack an outside outlook, so explicitly book a sea-view room if that's the attraction. Road and corridor noise also appear in recent reviews. Plan on transport for exploring and beach outings; we'd skip it for nightlife, walk-everywhere convenience or polished resort facilities.

  • Best for: couples seeking a low-key waterfront base; travelers with their own transport; sea-view room seekers

  • Watch out for: some rooms lack an outside outlook; road and corridor noise; out-of-the-way location

  • Location: Waterfront Ao Makham setting; guests find it removed from major attractions, with transport advisable.

  • Rooms: Clean, comfortable rooms earn praise, but outlook varies substantially by category; confirm an external window.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent guest feedback; Booking.com scores cleanliness 9.0/10.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the clearest recurring positive across booking platforms.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, waterfront terrace, free Wi-Fi and free parking; expect boutique-scale facilities.

  • Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a cash breakage deposit and breakfast charges; there is no elevator.
