#6 of 9 hotels in Kata & Kata Noi by Axel's take. Kata & Kata Noi is #2 of 12 places to stay in Phuket. The best hotels in Kata & Kata Noi, ranked · Where to stay in Phuket

Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong Kata choice for spacious rooms and swimming, rather than beachfront luxury. a five-star pool-focused resort set back from Kata Beach, scored for what it is.

Metadee is a five-star resort built around sprawling pools, with contemporary suites and a more tropical villa section. It's a strong pick for families and couples who put swimming and room space ahead of sea views. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, comfortable rooms and cleanliness; Booking.com's strong cleanliness rating backs that up. Pool-access rooms are the main draw, while the gym, kids club and rooftop restaurant round out a well-equipped resort.

The compromise is location: the hotel puts Kata Beach about 800 metres away, with a beach shuttle and buggies helping with the grounds. Several guests flag shaded pool areas, busy breakfasts and competition for loungers. Choose your room category carefully, since the modern blocks and villa section feel different. We'd skip it for direct beach access or a consistently quiet, intimate luxury stay.

Best for: families who love swimming; couples wanting pool-access rooms; travelers who prioritize spacious rooms
Watch out for: not directly on the beach; some pool areas get limited sun; busy breakfasts and reserved loungers
Location: Set back from Kata's main road; the hotel lists the beach at approximately 800 metres and offers a shuttle.
Rooms: Spacious suites and villas earn strong praise; check the section and floor when choosing pool access.
Cleanliness: A clear strength overall, supported by recent guest feedback and Booking.com's high category rating.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff and buggy drivers receive consistent praise across review sites.
Amenities: Extensive pools, gym, spa, kids club, swim-up bar and rooftop dining.
Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; check breakfast inclusion and note that outside food is prohibited around the pools.
