Axel's take: 8.6/10

Spacious apartments and helpful staff make this a strong pick away from the beachfront. a good-value 3-star apartment hotel inland from Bang Tao Beach, scored for what it is.

Hill Myna is a simple 3-star apartment hotel in Choeng Thale, not a beachfront resort. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want space and practical comforts for the money. Booking.com, Expedia and Trip.com guests consistently praise clean, generously sized rooms and helpful staff. Kitchenettes suit longer stays, while the outdoor pool and free local shuttle give it an edge over basic apartment rentals.

The trade-off is location: Bang Tao Beach is a drive away, so expect to use the shuttle or arrange transport rather than step onto the sand. Shops and local restaurants are closer. Treat the gym as a useful extra rather than a reason to book; feedback on its condition varies. We’d skip it for beachfront convenience or polished resort facilities, but choose it for a quieter, good-value base.

• Best for: longer-stay travelers wanting a kitchenette; families needing apartment space; value-minded couples

• Watch out for: inland location requires transport to the beach; confirm shuttle destinations and operating hours; mixed feedback on gym condition

• Location: Choeng Thale base near shops and local dining; Bang Tao Beach requires a drive or longer walk.

• Rooms: Spacious apartment-style accommodation with kitchenettes and separate living areas in suites.

• Cleanliness: Consistently praised across sites, including recent reports of thorough daily housekeeping.

• Service: Friendly, helpful reception and shuttle staff are recurring strengths.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, fitness room, free Wi-Fi, parking and a free local shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and shuttles to Patong or Central Floresta cost extra; not all transport is complimentary.
