#6 of 9 hotels in Cape Panwa by Axel's take. Cape Panwa is #10 of 12 places to stay in Phuket. The best hotels in Cape Panwa, ranked · Where to stay in Phuket

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong couples’ retreat for sea views and attentive service, with plenty of steps. a small luxury pool-villa resort on quiet Ao Yon Bay, scored for what it is.

Bandara is a small luxury pool-villa resort overlooking Ao Yon Bay, and we'd pick it for a quiet couples’ escape rather than a packed Phuket itinerary. The sea-facing pools are the main draw, but service gives it substance: Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise helpful staff, comfortable villas and cleanliness. Recent reviews reinforce that picture, making this a convincing choice for travelers who want beach time and privacy over nightlife.

The hillside layout is the biggest catch. A tram-like lift helps, but guests still report plenty of stairs; anyone with limited mobility should confirm the exact villa access before booking. The southeast-coast setting also means longer outings to Phuket’s main nightlife areas. We'd skip it for a step-free stay or a lively base, but shortlist it for a relaxed romantic break.

  • Best for: couples seeking a quiet escape; private-pool and sea-view lovers; beach-focused stays

  • Watch out for: hillside stairs despite the lift; far from the main nightlife areas

  • Location: Beachfront on peaceful Ao Yon Bay; better for unwinding than nightlife.

  • Rooms: Sea-facing pool villas; guests repeatedly praise comfort and views.

  • Cleanliness: Strong guest feedback across Booking.com and Expedia.

  • Service: Helpful, attentive staff are one of the most consistent positives.

  • Amenities: Pool villas, a beachfront communal pool, spa, restaurant and kayaking.

  • Fees and surprises: Booking.com lists a refundable arrival deposit; airport transfers cost extra.
