#9 of 9 hotels in Patong by Axel's take. Patong is #1 of 12 places to stay in Phuket. The best hotels in Patong, ranked · Where to stay in Phuket

Axel's take: 6.2/10

Sea views and spacious rooms, but inconsistent upkeep undermines the resort promise. an aging hillside resort marketed as five-star, above Kalim Beach, scored for what it is.

Andamantra is an aging hillside resort marketed as five-star, across the road from Kalim Beach at Patong’s northern end. We'd consider it for spacious accommodation and sea-view pool time, not polished luxury. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests praise the views and some helpful staff, but the overall picture is mixed: generous space and attractive pools do not reliably translate into a well-maintained stay.

Recent reviews repeatedly describe uneven cleaning, tired bathrooms and inconsistent reception service. The steep grounds also mean climbing or waiting for internal buggies. Expedia lists renovation of the lobby, front desk and selected guestrooms through October 31, 2026, subject to change; confirm what remains underway before booking. We'd skip it for a special-occasion luxury stay or if easy, step-free access matters.

  • Best for: view-focused couples with flexible expectations; travelers prioritizing room space and pools

  • Watch out for: renovations listed through October 31, 2026; steep grounds and buggy waits; uneven housekeeping and maintenance

  • Location: North Patong, across the road from Kalim Beach—not in Phuket Town or directly on the sand.

  • Rooms: Spacious rooms and villas; outlook varies, and guests report tired fittings and bathroom faults.

  • Cleanliness: Some guests praise clean rooms, but housekeeping complaints recur across Tripadvisor and Expedia.

  • Service: Individual staff earn praise; reception responsiveness and checkout handling receive repeated criticism.

  • Amenities: The hotel lists three pools, children's swimming areas, a gym, spa and kids club.

  • Fees and surprises: Cash security deposit required; breakfast and airport transfers may cost extra, and guests report checkout charge disputes.
