Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong Costa del Este base, with standout staff and generous rooms. an upscale 4-star business hotel in Costa del Este, scored for what it is.

The Westin Panama is an upscale 4-star business hotel that makes most sense when Costa del Este is where you need to be. We'd pick it for spacious rooms, comfortable beds and consistently praised service, particularly at breakfast. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly highlight helpful staff and clean rooms, while Booking.com also scores cleanliness strongly. Nearby restaurants and cafés give you options beyond the hotel.

The main compromise is geography: this is a modern corporate neighborhood, not a walk-out base for Casco Viejo sightseeing or a beach holiday. The rooftop pool, gym and spa add downtime options, but this remains a city business hotel rather than a resort. Check whether breakfast is included, and budget for parking or pet charges if relevant. We'd skip it if historic streets and major sights on foot are the priority.

• Best for: business travelers in Costa del Este; travelers prioritizing spacious, clean rooms; visitors with plans in the eastern city

• Watch out for: rides needed for Casco Viejo sightseeing; breakfast inclusion depends on your booking; parking and pet charges

• Location: Costa del Este offices, restaurants and cafés are convenient; the historic center requires transport.

• Rooms: Generous room sizes and comfortable beds earn repeated praise.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across Booking.com ratings and recent Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff—especially the breakfast team—are the most consistent highlight.

• Amenities: Outdoor rooftop pool, fitness studio, Sensory Spa, restaurants and meeting facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Marriott lists parking and nightly pet charges; confirm breakfast inclusion before booking.
