Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong city base for spacious rooms, pool time and plenty of dining choices. a large upscale city hotel with a casino in Obarrio, scored for what it is.

Sortis is a large upscale casino hotel in Obarrio, and we'd choose it for a city stay with plenty to do on site. Spacious rooms, skyline views, an outdoor pool and multiple restaurants are its strongest selling points. Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff and clean rooms, while Booking.com guests rate location and comfort particularly well. It's a strong fit for business trips or city breaks that leave time for the pool.

The caveat is consistency rather than a fundamentally poor stay. Recent Tripadvisor reviews include housekeeping lapses and maintenance complaints alongside enthusiastic recommendations, and Wi-Fi scores noticeably below other categories on Booking.com. Breakfast inclusion depends on your booking; parking and airport transfers cost extra. We'd skip it if dependable connectivity or consistently polished luxury service is essential.

• Best for: business travelers; city breaks with pool time; travelers wanting dining and casino entertainment

• Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and maintenance reports; weak guest ratings for Wi-Fi; breakfast, parking and transfer extras

• Location: Central Obarrio, with restaurants nearby and access to Vía Argentina metro.

• Rooms: Generously sized rooms; comfort earns strong ratings, though some guests report maintenance issues.

• Cleanliness: Generally well rated, with several recent housekeeping complaints rather than a broadly negative pattern.

• Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, but follow-through does not always meet upscale expectations.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, spa, gym, casino and multiple restaurants; this is an urban hotel, not a beach resort.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; the official site lists charges for parking and airport transfers.
