#7 of 9 hotels in Casco Viejo by Axel's take. Casco Viejo is #1 of 6 places to stay in Panama City. The best hotels in Casco Viejo, ranked · Where to stay in Panama City

Axel's take: 7.7/10

Good-value space in Casco Viejo, but rooftop nightlife can compromise sleep. A small, simple 3-star with apartment-style rooms and a lively rooftop in Casco Viejo, scored for what it is.

Oasis is a small, simple 3-star in Casco Viejo, with apartment-style rooms and a rooftop bar rather than full-service hotel polish. We'd shortlist it for space, location and value: recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise generous rooms, comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff. Restaurants, historic sights and waterfront walks are close. Booking.com's much larger review pool is broadly positive, despite a sharply weaker, smaller Tripadvisor sample.

The main compromise is sleep. Tripadvisor and Google guests describe rooftop music carrying into bedrooms; the operator advertises DJs and a 2 a.m. closing time at Sama Sky Lounge. Some bedrooms also lack proper windows, and layouts and kitchen equipment vary. It's a good fit for travelers who want nightlife nearby and can tolerate its spillover. We'd skip it for early nights, and confirm the exact room's windows and position before booking.

  • Best for: Nightlife-minded couples; Travelers wanting apartment-style space; Casco Viejo sightseeing on a budget

  • Watch out for: Late rooftop music; Some bedrooms lack proper windows; Variable layouts and kitchen equipment

  • Location: Central Casco Viejo, a short walk from the cathedral, Canal Museum and restaurants.

  • Rooms: Often spacious, with sitting areas and kitchen facilities; check windows and the exact layout.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall on Expedia, supported by recent positive guest reports.

  • Service: Recent Expedia guests praise helpful staff; Google reports suggest English availability varies.

  • Amenities: Rooftop dining and drinks, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, laundry services and an elevator.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra; Expedia lists no on-site parking, and rooftop nightlife can affect sleep.
