Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong city base for spacious rooms and skyline views, with occasional service bottlenecks. An upscale business high-rise in Panama City’s financial district, scored for what it is.

Las Americas Golden Tower is an upscale business high-rise that makes a strong case on room space, city views and everyday comfort. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff. We’d pick it for a business trip or city break where a generous room matters more than boutique character. The heated indoor pool and well-equipped gym are useful extras.

The main reservation is consistency when the hotel gets busy. Several Trip.com guests describe breakfast queues, slow replenishment and check-in delays, although newer Expedia reviews are much more enthusiastic. Some guests also flag tired finishes or small maintenance faults. It’s a very good practical base, but we’d skip it for flawless luxury service or an outdoor resort-style pool experience.

• Best for: Business travelers; City-break couples; Travelers who prioritize spacious rooms

• Watch out for: Breakfast and check-in queues at busy times; Some dated finishes and maintenance niggles; Indoor pool rather than an outdoor resort setup

• Location: Financial-district base near shops and restaurants; Booking.com guests rate the location particularly highly.

• Rooms: Spacious rooms and skyline views are recurring strengths; some guests report worn finishes or minor bathroom faults.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness ratings on Expedia and Booking.com outweigh scattered housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Recent praise for helpful staff is widespread, with occasional queues and uneven service during busy periods.

• Amenities: The official site confirms a heated indoor pool and a 24-hour gym; Expedia also lists an onsite spa.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists free self-parking; confirm breakfast inclusion for your booking rather than assuming it is included.
