Axel's take: 9.2/10

An excellent small-suite option for cleanliness, personal service and Shabbat-friendly stays. a small, independent apartment hotel in Punta Paitilla, scored for what it is.

Eshel Suites is a small, independent apartment hotel in Punta Paitilla, and it's a strong pick if clean, comfortable accommodation matters more than big-hotel facilities. Google and Booking.com guests consistently praise cleanliness and helpful staff; Expedia's recent reviews reinforce that picture, highlighting comfortable beds, responsive hosts and restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. Its Shabbat provisions, including manual locks and hot-water equipment, make it particularly practical for observant Jewish travelers. We'd choose it for a straightforward city stay with personal attention.

The main compromises are practical: there is no elevator, and Expedia asks guests to arrange check-in ahead rather than expect a conventional front desk. Expedia also lists a cleaning fee, a breakage deposit and paid parking, so check your booking's inclusions. We'd skip it if stairs are difficult or you want a full-service hotel.

• Best for: observant Jewish travelers; families wanting suite-style accommodation; travelers who prioritize cleanliness and helpful hosts

• Watch out for: no elevator; arrange arrival in advance; cleaning fee, deposit and paid parking

• Location: Punta Paitilla base with restaurants and grocery shopping within walking distance, according to guests.

• Rooms: Modern suite-style accommodation; recent guests praise comfortable beds and effective air-conditioning.

• Cleanliness: A particularly strong point across Google, Booking.com and recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Guests repeatedly praise accommodating staff and responsive hosts; confirm arrival arrangements beforehand.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, laundry facilities and Shabbat equipment; confirm the kitchen facilities in your chosen suite.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists cleaning and parking charges plus a breakage deposit; housekeeping terms differ across listings.
