Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong downtown base, with clean rooms and a few practical catches. a practical 3-star downtown hotel near Parliament Hill, scored for what it is.

This 3-star Hilton Garden Inn is a strong pick for a straightforward downtown stay, especially without a car. Lyon O-Train station is across the street, and Parliament Hill is within walking distance. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Microwaves and mini-fridges add everyday convenience, while an indoor pool, gym and on-site restaurant round out a useful mid-range package.

The catches are mostly practical: breakfast usually costs extra, and paid underground parking has a low ceiling—the hotel lists clearance at 5 feet 9 inches. Tripadvisor feedback is less consistent on reception, with some reports of poor communication or busy check-in periods. An August 2026 guest also reported construction inside and in front of the hotel; its completion is unconfirmed. We'd check that before booking and look elsewhere if you need oversized parking or breakfast included.

• Best for: car-free sightseeing trips; downtown business stays; families wanting a pool

• Watch out for: paid parking with low clearance; breakfast generally costs extra; confirm status of reported construction

• Location: Across from Lyon station, with Parliament Hill and downtown offices within walking distance.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well maintained, with microwaves and mini-fridges; some guests mention sound carrying between rooms.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across recent reviews, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Mostly praised as friendly and helpful, but reception communication and busy-period check-in are less consistent.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, gym, free Wi-Fi, Tulip restaurant and bar, plus a 24-hour snack pantry.

• Fees and surprises: Parking, breakfast and pets carry extra charges; garage clearance is 5 feet 9 inches, and August 2026 construction remains unconfirmed as completed.
