#4 of 9 hotels in Promenade des Anglais & Carré d'Or by Axel's take. Promenade des Anglais & Carré d'Or is #2 of 6 places to stay in Nice. The best hotels in Promenade des Anglais & Carré d'Or, ranked · Where to stay in Nice

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A personable seaside base, provided you can handle stairs and some neighbor noise. an intimate 3-star townhouse hotel near Nice’s seafront, scored for what it is.

Arome is an 11-room, 3-star townhouse hotel a short walk from the Promenade des Anglais. It’s a strong pick for travelers who prefer personal attention to big-hotel facilities. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, helpful local advice and clean rooms; the complimentary morning croissant is another consistent hit. For a small city hotel, it delivers the essentials well.

The compromises are worth taking seriously: every room requires stairs, with no elevator or ground-floor option. Smaller rooms and showers can feel tight, and several Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests report hearing neighboring rooms despite advertised soundproofing. We’d choose a larger room if space matters and arrange late-arrival instructions ahead. Skip it if you need step-free access or dependable nighttime quiet.

  • Best for: couples on short city breaks; solo travelers exploring Nice; beachgoers who prefer small hotels

  • Watch out for: stairs to every room; no elevator; compact rooms and showers; noise between neighboring rooms

  • Location: A few minutes’ walk from the beach and promenade, with restaurants and shops nearby.

  • Rooms: Air-conditioned and generally well liked; larger categories offer more breathing room, but sound insulation draws complaints.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Expedia, Booking.com and Tripadvisor, with occasional exceptions.

  • Service: Warm, attentive staff are a recurring strength; confirm arrival arrangements rather than assuming overnight reception.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, in-room tea and coffee, and a complimentary morning croissant; no onsite parking.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax is payable at the property; confirm child policies directly because the official site and Expedia conflict.
