#7 of 9 hotels in Kilimani & Hurlingham by Axel's take. Kilimani & Hurlingham is #1 of 8 places to stay in Nairobi. The best hotels in Kilimani & Hurlingham, ranked · Where to stay in Nairobi

Axel's take: 8.0/10

A solid Ngong Road base, strongest on hospitality rather than leisure facilities. a practical mid-range business hotel on Ngong Road, scored for what it is.

Ngong Hills Hotel is a practical mid-range business hotel on Ngong Road, and we'd pick it for a straightforward Nairobi stay rather than a resort break. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, comfortable rooms and generous breakfast. Recent Tripadvisor feedback remains positive, while Booking.com and Expedia ratings paint a good, rather than exceptional, overall picture. It looks like a sensible choice when this part of town suits your plans.

The clearest weakness is internet: Booking.com's Wi-Fi rating trails its other categories considerably, so we'd bring backup connectivity for important work calls. There's a gym but no swimming pool, and breakfast is not included in every booking. We'd skip it if pool time or dependable hotel Wi-Fi is central to the trip.

  • Best for: business travelers with nearby appointments; short Nairobi stays; travelers prioritizing helpful staff

  • Watch out for: weak Wi-Fi feedback; no swimming pool; breakfast inclusion varies

  • Location: On Ngong Road, convenient for Prestige Plaza and Yaya Centre rather than a CBD doorstep.

  • Rooms: Comfortable rooms draw praise; family rooms and suites are also available.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive feedback, though Booking.com's cleanliness score is solid rather than outstanding.

  • Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are the most consistent strength across guest-review sites.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, bar, gym and free parking; no swimming pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Confirm breakfast inclusion; airport transfers cost extra. The official website could not be loaded to verify policies.
