#4 of 4 hotels in JKIA Airport by Axel's take. JKIA Airport is #8 of 8 places to stay in Nairobi. The best hotels in JKIA Airport, ranked · Where to stay in Nairobi

Axel's take: 7.6/10

Good-value airport convenience and helpful staff, but road noise is the compromise. a no-frills 3-star airport stopover hotel, scored for what it is.

Airport Landing is a no-frills 3-star best treated as a practical overnight stop before or after a flight, rather than a Nairobi holiday base. We'd pick it for value and helpful service: recent Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The rooftop restaurant and generally well-liked breakfast make staying in an easy option.

The main compromise is the busy roadside setting. Traffic noise comes up across sites, and several guests find the surrounding commercial area unappealing for walking. Airport journeys can be quick in light traffic, but allow extra time rather than trusting the name. Transfers cost extra; confirm the charge and pickup arrangements beforehand. We'd skip it for a peaceful break, and light sleepers should request a room away from the road.

  • Best for: budget-conscious airport stopovers; late arrivals and early departures; short business stays

  • Watch out for: traffic noise in road-facing rooms; busy commercial surroundings; airport transfers charged separately

  • Location: Useful for JKIA connections, but traffic affects journey times and the immediate surroundings are not a sightseeing draw.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and functional; request a quieter room and confirm air-conditioning availability.

  • Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive, with occasional exceptions rather than a defining pattern.

  • Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are the most consistent strength across guest-review sites.

  • Amenities: Rooftop restaurant and bar, breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free parking and a listed fitness centre.

  • Fees and surprises: Airport transfers are extra; confirm pickup details and whether breakfast is included in your booking.
