Hotels in NairobiA no-frills 2-star budget hotel in Nairobi’s central business district
6.7/10
Friendly staff and downtown convenience, but tired rooms and noise limit the appeal.
Kenya Comfort is a no-frills downtown budget hotel: its own website calls it two-star, rather than the catalog’s three. It’s a reasonable short-stay option if central access matters more than polish. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, and the Sokoni restaurant earns positive mentions. Rooms range from compact budget options to larger superior rooms; don’t expect contemporary finishes.
The compromises go beyond dated decor. Recent guests repeatedly mention nighttime noise, while reviews also describe lift breakdowns and uneven room maintenance. Cleanliness earns respectable overall ratings, but individual experiences vary. We’d consider it for a brief, practical city stop, not a restful hotel-centered stay. Light sleepers, travelers needing dependable step-free access, and anyone expecting consistent three-star comfort should look elsewhere.
Axel's opinion, from the hotel's website and recent guest reviews, scored for what the hotel is. Sources: Hotel website · Tripadvisor · Booking.com · Expedia · en.planetofhotels.com. Reviewed Oct 10, 2026.

Best for: Budget travelers prioritizing downtown access; Short city or transit stays
Watch out for: Nighttime street and event noise; Recurring lift breakdown reports; Dated rooms and uneven maintenance
Location: Central CBD position opposite Jeevanjee Gardens, close to City Market and the university.
Rooms: Compact budget rooms and larger superior options; furnishings and fittings show their age.
Cleanliness: Generally acceptable aggregate ratings, with some recent complaints about bathrooms and linen.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent strength across review sites.
Amenities: Restaurant, bar and rooftop terrace; the hotel also advertises steam and sauna facilities.
Fees and surprises: Confirm breakfast inclusion and parking charges; air-conditioning is not standard across all rooms.
