#9 of 9 hotels in Kilimani & Hurlingham by Axel's take. Kilimani & Hurlingham is #1 of 8 places to stay in Nairobi. The best hotels in Kilimani & Hurlingham, ranked · Where to stay in Nairobi

Axel's take: 7.1/10

Useful Kilimani location and welcoming staff, but don't expect polished four-star comfort. an older 4-star business hotel in Kilimani, scored for what it is.

Eastland is an older 4-star business hotel in Kilimani, best chosen for convenience rather than polish. Prestige Plaza and Yaya Centre are nearby, and Chinese dining is a strong part of its identity. Recent Trip.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful reception staff; several also describe clean rooms. We'd consider it for a practical Nairobi stay, particularly if nearby Chinese restaurants appeal.

The trade-offs are dated facilities, recurring Wi-Fi complaints and guest reports of rooms without air conditioning. Breakfast divides opinion, and bathroom cleaning is not uniformly praised. Don't book around the catalog's pool or casino promises without direct confirmation. Business Daily reported receivers appointed on September 9, 2025; that warrants checking arrangements, not assuming closure. We'd skip it for dependable remote working or a polished leisure stay.

  • Best for: practical Kilimani stays; travelers seeking nearby Chinese dining; business travelers prioritizing location

  • Watch out for: unreliable in-room Wi-Fi; dated facilities and reported lack of air conditioning; confirm pool and casino access before booking

  • Location: Convenient for Prestige Plaza, Adlife Plaza and Yaya Centre, rather than a downtown base.

  • Rooms: Some guests praise room size, but recent reviews describe aging equipment and rooms without air conditioning.

  • Cleanliness: Recent feedback is often positive, though bathroom cleaning receives some criticism.

  • Service: Reception is a recurring strength across recent Expedia and Trip.com reviews.

  • Amenities: Restaurants, gym and spa are listed; pool access is inconsistently documented and casino access needs confirmation.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is listed as free; breakfast and airport transfers can cost extra. Receivers were appointed in September 2025.
