Axel's take: 8.1/10

A practical stadium base with strong cleanliness marks, but uneven quiet and Wi-Fi. a simple independent 3-star near Medellín’s stadium, scored for what it is.

Hotel Sauces del Estadio is a simple independent 3-star that makes sense for football trips, sporting events and straightforward city stays. We'd pick it for location and dependable basics rather than style: the stadium, restaurants and metro are within walking distance. Booking.com and Expedia both rate it very good, with cleanliness a particular strength. Recent guests also regularly praise helpful staff, while the hotel lists a gym, steam room and family-sized room options.

The compromises are worth knowing. Guests report hard beds and noise from corridors or the street, while Booking.com's Wi-Fi rating trails its other categories. Breakfast earns mixed feedback for variety, and reception service is not uniformly warm or efficient. It's a strong practical choice if you'll spend most days out; we'd skip it for a quiet retreat or internet-dependent working stay.

• Best for: football fans and sports-event visitors; value-minded city explorers; families wanting multi-bed rooms

• Watch out for: street and corridor noise; hard beds in some rooms; inconsistent Wi-Fi

• Location: Convenient for Atanasio Girardot Stadium, local dining and walks to Estadio or Suramericana metro.

• Rooms: Simple rooms with refrigerators and several family layouts; bed firmness and sound insulation draw complaints.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across major sites, including recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise, though reception draws recurring complaints about attitude and efficiency.

• Amenities: Breakfast, restaurant and free parking are listed; the official site also advertises a gym and Turkish steam room.

• Fees and surprises: Confirm the final tax-inclusive total before arrival; recent guests have reported billing and tax disputes.
