5.5/10
Downtown convenience doesn't outweigh the recurring housekeeping and maintenance problems.
Hotel 47 Medellin Street is a budget 3-star downtown hotel, not the luxury stay its newer Expedia name suggests. It offers convenient access to central shopping and San Antonio metro, plus a rooftop terrace and included breakfast. Some recent Expedia guests praise helpful staff and clean rooms, but the overall evidence is too uneven for a confident recommendation.
The biggest concern is housekeeping: separate Expedia guests in May 2026 and a Tripadvisor guest in June report cockroaches, alongside complaints about missed cleaning and worn towels. Other guests describe unreliable Wi-Fi, cooling problems and street noise. The official site lists fans in Classic rooms, so don't assume air conditioning is standard. We'd consider it only for a short downtown stay; first-time visitors, light sleepers and anyone prioritizing dependable cleanliness should look elsewhere.
Axel's opinion, from the hotel's website and recent guest reviews, scored for what the hotel is. Sources: Hotel website · Expedia · Tripadvisor · Kayak. Reviewed Oct 10, 2026.
