Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong El Poblado base, with standout staff and some room-to-room trade-offs. a compact, independent 3-star in El Poblado’s nightlife district, scored for what it is.

Hotel Dix is a compact, independent 3-star near Parque Lleras, and a strong pick if restaurants and nightlife matter more than sprawling rooms. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the helpful staff, cleanliness and convenient location. Breakfast adds value, while the rooftop gives this straightforward city hotel something extra; a June 2026 Expedia guest specifically praised its newly renovated rooftop bar.

The compromises are mostly about space and quiet. Some rooms are small, and older Tripadvisor reviews describe sound carrying between rooms and through the central opening, although several 2026 Expedia guests report quiet stays. The gym is basic rather than a reason to book. We'd choose Dix for an active city break, but skip it if you need generous room space, substantial fitness facilities or dependable silence.

• Best for: couples exploring El Poblado; nightlife-focused city breaks; travelers who prioritize helpful staff

• Watch out for: some compact rooms; variable sound insulation; limited gym equipment

• Location: Walkable Calle 10 address near Parque Lleras, restaurants and bars; the metro requires a longer walk.

• Rooms: Air-conditioned rooms with minibars; some are compact, and sound insulation receives mixed reports.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com ratings and recent Expedia guest reviews.

• Service: Recent guests repeatedly praise welcoming, helpful staff and attentive reception.

• Amenities: Buffet breakfast, rooftop, small gym, coworking space and private parking; recent guests confirm rooftop use.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and minibar items cost extra; Expedia also lists a deposit, so confirm payment requirements.
